Any attempt to discuss the present political side of our existence almost guarantees being sucked into the likes of a boxing ring with no referee to keep order. Few if any of the arguments even begin to make sense. Every attempt to reveal the truth is scorned or ignored.

At the same time, logic nearly always gets thrown out the window. Any decorum followed at the beginning is soon either lost or trampled by those who insist that on all counts they are unquestionably correct.

In conversing with others, most of us know better than to even hint about venturing into the three assumed private havens of religion, politics, and sex. 

Although we might debate whether we have broken ranks on religion and sex, there’s little doubt in the minds of all of us that open season has been declared on politics. Whether it’s fair or unfair game, many are taking aim.

The Casual-Serious State Of The Nation

We just had a national election and depending upon one’s political leanings, the feelings of everyone out there from big cities to wide open spaces range from glad to mad and maybe even sad. 

As for me and right now, I’ve taken refuge in an easy chair from which I can look through a window and see a sky filled with both sun and dark clouds, trees sporting dashes of fall color, and two squirrels busily looking for still more food to stash away for winter meals.
